Police in Salima have arrested Harrison Jackson, 17, after he was discovered sitting for the 2014 Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) examinations on behalf of his friend. Salima Police spokesperson Gift Chitowe said Jackson was arrested at Salima Secondary School cluster centre on the second day for the examinations.

“A close examination of his identity card revealed that it did not belong to him. After he was quizzed on the matter, he confessed that he was assisting his friend,” said Chitowe.

Jackson will be taken to court to answer charges of cheating under the Malawi National Examinations Board Act. He comes from Scheme 5 Village, Senior Chief Kalonga in the district.
