TNM Super League defending champions have once again dropped points after a goalless draw against Mighty Wakawaka Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

It was a second consecutive draw for the People’s Team after they were also held by Dedza Dynamos in their opening match at Dedza Stadium.

This means Bullets have collected just two points from a possible six and are now ninth on the log table.

Coach Kallisto Pasuwa in a post-match interview said the team did not perform to expectation.

He said: “We didn’t do much. We were very slow in our build up. We played mostly in the defensive zone.

“Like I always say, we need to be a complete team. It’s part of learning process. Today is one of the days we didn’t do enough in terms of what we prepared.”

Tigers coach Leo Mpulula said a draw against Bullets was a good response after losing to Creck Sporting in their opening match.

He said: “It was a tough game. As you are aware, we are coming from a loss. I like the discipline of the players on the pitch. We are so disciplined. Bullets are very strong in the midfield. But our players managed to contain them.”

Meanwhile, Mzuzu City Hammers have topped the TNM Super League log table with six points after defeating Baka City 2-1 at Mzuzu Stadium.

The Mzuzu-based outfit, who started the league with a 1-0 victory over Civil Service United, are the only side with two wins this far.

Hammers scored through Isaac Msiska and Yasin Rashid while Baka scored their consolation through Joseph Mwambungu.

Their coach Elias Chirambo said he was excited after collecting maximum points in two consecutive matches.

He said: “I am very happy. Last week we missed a lot of chances. I told my players to attack more. Today we were aggressive and scored two goals.”

However, Chirambo said topping the table does not mean they will relax.

“We have so many games to play. Each game has its own game plan. We will continue to work hard,” he said.

Meanwhile, Civil recovered from their loss to Hammers and thrashed Dedza Dynamos 3-0 at Civo Stadium with Kelvin Kadzinje, Muhamad Biason and Emmanuel Saviel on target.

Mafco and Kamuzu Barracks drew one-all at Chitowe in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota.

The Salima-based outfit had to come from behind through Yohane Malunga to cancel Sam Gunda’s goal.

In today’s fixtures, Silver Strikers take on Bangwe All Stars at Silver Stadium while Creck Sporting Club host Moyale at Civo Stadium.

Chitipa United and Karonga United clash at Karonag Stadium while Fomo host Mighty Mukuru wanderers at Mulanje Park Stadium.
