Bullets mobilise fans for CAF away match

Nyasa Big Bullets are mobilising their supporters to travel to Tanzania next weekend to cheer the team during the second leg of CAF Champions League preliminaries against Simba SC.

Bullets host Simba SC this Saturday at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe while the return game is on September 18 in Tanzania.

Bullets fans in bouyant mood in a previous match

In an interview yesterday, Bullets media officer Andrew Chilapodwa said they want to go to Tanzania with a contingent of fans to cheer the team.

He said: “The team will provide the buses, but is asking each supporter to pay K90 000 for fuel.

“But each supporter will also be required to pay for accommodation while in Tanzania. We want to add that extra voice to help the team. Supporters play an important role during a football match.”

Bullets director of supporters Stone Mwamadi said they are overwhelmed with calls from fans who want to be part of the trip.

He said: “We are getting calls from all over Malawi as fans want to travel with the team. We thank the club for providing the 65-seater bus. Some will use public transport while others will use personal vehicles. We want a big representation in Tanzania.”

Mwamadi has however appealed to fans to fill Bingu National Stadium on Saturday to cheer the team.

“We want to create an intimidating atmosphere at Bingu. We must win this game at all cost to have an advantage in Tanzania. But let us be peaceful and cheer our team without resorting to unruly behaviour. Our club is a business entity and must not be associated with violence. Let’s win fairly,” said Mwamadi.
