Bullets start fans’ mobilisation drive

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have launched a fans’ mobilisation exercise with the first phase set for the Central Region.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lilongwe on Sunday, the team’s national supporters committee general secretary Archibald Kasakura said the registration will be launched this Saturday in Lilongwe during the People’s Team’s first 2023  TNM Super League game against Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium.

He said:  “First of all, as supporters we have to show loyalty to the club through registration. Every member has to have a membership card.  The database that we are building through this registration drive will give the club leverage in its commercialisation drive to  find partners and other sponsors.

“This time we want to have a phased registration starting from the Central Region and then other districts and regions. In this year’s exercise, we are targeting to register 100 000 fans.”

Kasakura said membership is in three categories, namely Platinum  at K50 000, Gold at K20 000 and Maule at K1 000.

He said the Platinum category has benefits to the fans such as replica jerseys. Kasakura said there are also benefits attached to the gold card.

Before the press briefing, the national supporters committee held a meeting with the club’s  Central Region supporters committee to discuss modalities of the exercise.

Austin Kasito, chairperson of the supporters committee in the Centre, said although the club has set 100 000 as the region’s target, they would like to contribute 500 000 members.

He said: “Though Bullets as a club is based in Blantyre, but it has a huge following here in the Central Region.

“We have zonal committees in each district  and we pledge to contribute over 500 000 members in this exercise.

“Like I said, we have laid structures and mobilisation will be easy.”
