Chawanangwa(R): I am not in a rush

Silver Strikers’ red-hot forward Chawanangwa Kaonga is in a fix on which team to join following fresh interest from South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Maritzburg United who want to sign him this January.
Kaonga—who had two-day trials with the South African outfit in June 2014—has also attracted interests from CAF Club Championship-bound Big Bullets FC and an unnamed club in Mozambique.
“Maritzburg United said they will need my services this January and this has put me in a fix in terms of deciding which team to play for. However, I am looking forward to a team that comes with a better offer. I am not in a rush,” said Kaonga yesterday.
Maritzburg came up with K8 million offer for the striker’s five-year deal in July 2014, but the issue went into oblivion for the last few months.  Silver Strikers bought the player from Civo United at K700 000 in 2012.
On the other hand, TNM Super League champions Big Bullets want the player to help them in their campaign for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Championships.
According to local transfer rules, no local club can buy a player on the domestic market at more than K3 million.
Kaonga still has a three-year running contract with Silver Strikers.
Meanwhile, father of the 19-year-old star, Harrison Kaonga said on Matindi Radio sports programme few days ago that teams should leave his son alone to freely decide a team of his choice.
