Zambia-based Scorchers forward Vanessa Chikupira on Sunday claimed her first hat-trick in the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s Super Division.

The former FCB Nyasa Bullets Women’s striker scored three goals for reigning champions Green Buffaloes in their 5-0 triumph over Chipata Girls.

Took her tally to five goals: Chikupira

Following the hat-trick, the 31-year-old player has taken her tally to five goals from seven matches.

She joined the Lusaka-based outfit last December and made an instant impression.

Chikupira, who was part of the Scorchers 2023 Cosafa Women’s Championship triumphant side, was quoted by the club’s Facebook page as having said she was excited to score her first hat-trick.

“I have only played a couple of games and I hope to perform even better in the coming games,” she was quoted as saying.

Buffaloes top the 18-team Zambian national women’s league with 49 points from 19 games, a point more than second-placed Zesco.
