“MOC has co-opted Chinunda into the board in compliance with the constitutional dictates which provides that if no woman is elected into the board, the executive shall co-opt at least two women to balance gender,” confirmed Mhango through a statement.

She joins in MOC vice-president Flora Mwandira who retained her seat during recent elections, which saw Helene Mpinganjira losing her SG seat to Mhango who was previously treasurer.

Chinunda said yesterday she was waiting for official communication before she states her expectations.

During the recent elections, Oscar Kanjala retained his position as president with Henry Sakala voted in as treasurer general and John Kaputa as vice GS. Ken Dzekedzeka was also ushered in as athletes’ representative, among others.

MOC is the mother governing body of Olympic and Commonwealth Games’ sporting disciplines.
