Boasting a burgeoning unbeaten spell, Malawi Under-20 coach Ernest Mtawali is undisturbed that Zambia’s Chipolopolo mentor Patrice Beaumelle has joined his Under-20 counterpart Hector Chilombo to plot the Junior Flames’ downfall.

The Junior Flames date Zambia, who booted out Mozambique 4-0 on aggregate, this August in the final two-legged qualifying round for the 2015 Africa Youth Championship finals in Senegal.

Beaumelle, a French, is quoted on Zambia Football Association (FAZ) Facebook page reminding Zambia Under-20 players that Malawi are strong evidenced by their 2-0 away win in the Democratic Republic of Congo last Friday.

“You have just two more games before you can get to Senegal and if you work hard and stay focused it can happen,” Beaumelle is quoted on FAZ’s page.

He added that he will work alongside the Under-20 coaches to rectify flaws noticed during encounters against Mozambique.

Spencer Sautu and Patrick Ngoma scored in Zambia’s 2-0 win in Maputo in the second leg.

Chilombo and his captain Musonda Lobambo also told the Facebook page that their next task is plot the downfall of Malawi.

Commenting on the Malawi fixture, Zambia fan Samson Kingstone Moyo wrote: “Who in southern Equator has the guts to stand in Great Zambia’s way? Now you say The Flames! Against The Copper Bullets there is no victory!”

In reaction yesterday, Mtawali, who is unbeaten in five games with the Under-20 this year, said the DRC encounter was the toughest and Zambia will get a run for their money.

“We did not enter the competition just to add numbers. We have not watched Zambia, they should be tricky, but there is hunger among the boys to qualify for the final,” said Mtawali, who in total is unbeaten in six Under-20 matches, including that of 2008.
