Illusionz Night Club was at it again last Saturday night entertaining Lilongwe music lovers after storming the commercial hub last weekend with the Illusionz pop up Blantyre edition.

Dubbed Saturday Night Live, the Lilongwe night show had the spotlight on renowned artists Nepman, Lulu and Dan Lu as they performed live on set.

The three performers took patrons into a world of nostalgia, provoking memories of days gone by. One could tell from the way fans sang along to old tunes and hits made by the music maestros during that night that the patrons were enjoying every moment of it.

Dan Lu kicked off the evening with his soulful track Part of Life immediately drawing attention to the stage as fans sang along while others moved closer to the stage for a clear and closer view of the performance.

The Part of Life hit-maker also performed some of his classics like Shuppie, Nsanje, Mphete and Sweet Banana walking patrons down the memory lane.

After Dan Lu’s set, the host Anne Matumbi invited Nepman on stage as he entertained patrons performing his hits, Na Lero, Ndikileko and Chilawe Changachi. At this point, fans clamoured for more and were reluctant to see him leave the stage when his time was over.

But everything good has to come to an end as they say and Nepman bid farewell to fans and Lulu’s set was on. He made an entrance exciting patrons with his trademark dance moves as he took control of the stage.

With his Mathumela Band, the stage was set on new flames as he performed some of his hit songs such as Tsogolo, Hanna and Palibe Vuto.

While on stage, the Mwachenjera Darling star asked Dan Lu to join him on stage and performed some of their songs together. The two artists then surprised fans as they both performed each other’s songs with ease.

Patrons could be overheard saying: “These two men made our days back in the days. They are living legends.”

As the last notes faded into the night, the show once again echoed the words of the club’s manager, Martin Nyirenda who has in the past emphasised the club’s commitment to provide patrons with a standard nightlife experience.
