Listen to this article

Barely a week after removing and redeploying city council chief executive officers (CEOs), government, through the Local Government Service Commission, has advertised the posts.

Ministry of Local Government principal secretary Kester Kaphaizi said in an interview on Tuesday the successful candidates are expected to start working immediately after release of interview results.

The posts are on a three-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

According to an advert placed in the local papers, the successful candidates will be responsible to the mayor and should possess at least a master’s degree in law, economics, human resources or business administration while those with PhDs will have an added advantage.
