Cris ready to debut solo art exhibition
Having a solo art exhibition is a path most established visual artists have walked or aspired.
This is the reason artist Cris Taulo is ready to sail the same boat with his debut exhibition dubbed Crimson set to take place at Kaliso Art Gallery in Lilongwe from December 7 to 14 2024.
It focuses on the psychological impact of colour, particularly crimson, a shade of red on society and life in general.
Taulo says the exhibition will be an opportunity for him to teach people about colour in art and give a glimpse of his work.
“I have always wanted to do a solo exhibition to show people what I am capable of. It is also an opportunity to use the same platform to expose my work to art enthusiasts,” he said.
The exhibition will feature a collection of pieces that Taulo hopes will resonate with audiences and inspire them to see art as a tool for emotional and intellectual engagement.
Kaliso Art Gallery owner Everlyn Chisambiro commended Taulo’s efforts, saying that such exhibitions are crucial for creating opportunities for visual artists and expose their work to the world.
“Solo exhibitions are critical for artists to establish their identity and build confidence in their work. It shows growth and being ready to take up their career to a new level,” she said.
