Dowa police, chiefs talkdefilement, murder
Police in Dowa on Wednesday conducted a community policing sensitisation meeting to sensitise chiefs to the dangers of murder and defilement.
The meeting, held at Matekenya Trading Centre in Traditional Authority (T/A) Msakambewa, targeted chiefs so that they pass the knowledge to people in their areas.
Dowa Police community policing coordinator Sub-Inspector Levison Kanyenge said the district is experiencing a rise in murder and defilement cases.
“The meeting was meant to educate the chiefs so that in turn they can sensitise their people on the dangers of defilement and murder.
“We also wanted people to know that police bail is free,” said Kanyenge.
Senior Group Village Heads Chimuka and Byson Kalosa commended police for the initiative.
