Dwangwa United are hunting for a new coach after Lloyd Nkhwazi dumped the Nkhotakota-based TNM Super League outfit a week before the 2018 season kicks off.

Nkhwazi is reported to have resigned after disagreements with the club’s executive committee over the release of surplus players.

Left after disagreements: Nkhwazi

Reports indicate that three players, including Nkhwazi’s son Ephraim, were released by the executive committee, a development that irked the coach.

He has since been linked with a move to Azam Tigers, who are expected to unveil a new coach before the season kicks off.

According to a vacancy notice released by Dwangwa, the club wants the prospective coach to have a minimum of CAF (Confederation of Africa Football) A coaching licence and three years experience coaching a top-flight league club.

“The successful candidate will initially be placed on a one-year contract subject to renewal at the end of the contract based on performance. Terms and conditions to be agreed upfront,” reads the vacancy advert signed by Dwangwa general secretary Samson Zimba.

Nkhwazi replaced McDonald Mtetemera who was fired at Dwangwa midway in the 2017 season.

The former Nyasa Big Bullets assistant coach managed to avoid relegation in the 2017 season.

But Mtetemera, who was roped in by Blantyre United, failed to save the team from relegation.
