E-Wallet back in June

Listen to this article

After just four months since the 2012/2013 E-Wallet came to an end in January this year, the competition is coming back this month with full force and excitement, organisers have confirmed.

According to the coordinator of the competition, Anthony Kafuwa, the competition is starting with first auditions scheduled for Mzuzu on June 23.

“I can confirm that the 2013 E-wallet competition is on and we are coming back with a lot of surprises and a tight competition,” said Kafuwa.

He, however, revealed that they are planning to carry a fundraising event to top up the funds for the competition. Kafuwa said they have been silent because they were waiting for a confirmation from one of the sponsors who pledged to support the event this year.

“We approached several sponsors to support us, but only one has confirmed and we without doubt we can assure the nation that the competition is on,” he said.

Kafuwa said the first audition will be followed by another in Lilongwe and then Blantyre. He said, they have spared two months, June and July for auditions and the finals will be somewhere in December.

Blantyre-based Wakhumbachi Kaluwa came out winner in the event that finished on January 31this year and Lilongwe-based Taonga Kanthungo and Guise Pemba reached the finals.
