The gesture was part of International Women’s Day celebrations held under the theme #EmbraceEquity.

The Ecobank event dubbed Ellevate Business Breakfast was held at Sunbird Mount Soche and attracted the bank’s commercial banking and premier banking female customers.

In her speech, Chanza said: “Women are the biggest reservoir of talent in the world.

“Ecobank remains committed in its resolve to embrace equity by offering tailor-made solutions for women that go beyond the normal banking products and services.”

One of the customers, Charlotte Chingwanda, who is co-owner of Alidziwa Clinic and director of finance and operations, thanked Ecobank Malawi for organising the event which provided a platform for interaction.

“It has been a great learning experience where we have all networked and learnt one or two things from our fellow women entrepreneurs.

“I am a happy customer as Ecobank offers me a complete set of products and services that allow me to make easy payments via the Ecobank pay.”

During the event, Ecobank Malawi women customers had an opportunity to exhibit their business products and services.

Ecobank Malawi also took advantage of the event to re-position Ellevate, a product offering for women-owned and women-focused businesses designed to empower, grow and support them with customised financial and value-added solutions.

Ellevate offers a wide-reaching suite of solutions combining smarter money management, discounted financing and value-added digital solutions.
