Emmie Deebo earns four continental nominations
Award winning musician Emmie Deebo has earned four nominations at the 2025 Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (Aaea) slated for March 30 in Nairobi, Kenya.
She has been nominated in the Best New Female Artist, Best Collaboration by New Act, Best Music Video by New Act and Best Hit Single by New Act categories.

All the nominations are courtesy of her hit song Hapa, which features Tanzanian artist Platform.
The Aaea recognises emerging and established talents across the continent and considers nominations based on industry impact, fan votes and panel selection process.
Reacting to the nominations, the Mtima hitmaker said the nominations are a testament to her effort to invest in music.
“These nominations show that my hard work is paying off and they motivate me to keep pushing. It’s a huge step in my journey and this is just the beginning,” she said.
The artist has urged her music fans to vote for her as winning the awards will also depend on the number of votes she will get.
Emmie Deebo said fans should look forward to her upcoming music project as she is working on her debut album First Born.
“The album is a reflection of my journey, emotions, and growth as an artist. Fans should expect a mix of sounds, deep storytelling, and some exciting collaborations,” she said.
Emmie Deebo’s new single release, Mtima, which is already making waves, is part of the album project.
The musician is being managed by Akometsi. Its operations and marketing manager Laurent Kwakwala said they view the nominations as a validation of the artist’s hard work and a boost for her brand on the international level.
“This boosts her visibility, strengthens her brand and opens doors for more collaborations and opportunities,” he said.
