Gospel artist Ethel Kamwendo Banda is back with new music and is set to release a new music video for her song titled Matamando on August 31.
In an interview on Tuesday, she said the video will premiere on various television stations and social media platforms at the same time.
According to Kamwendo, the song, produced by OBK at OBK Studios, carries a message of gratitude to God for all the good things He has done.
“God helps us through hard times. He provides in famine, heals us in sickness and comforts us in sad times. To crown it all, He has given us an opportunity to enter His kingdom, so He deserves all the praise,” she said.
Malawi Musicians Union of Malawi (MUM) president Vita Chirwa praised Kamwendo-Banda for her new song, saying it symbolises her relentless efforts to keep her fans entertained while preaching the gospel.
“I am looking forward to listening to the new song from one of the longest serving and hard-working musicians I know,” he said.
With 15 albums to her name, Kamwendo-Banda has established herself as a prolific artist in the Malawi music industry. Her last album, Ndili pa Mzere featured 11 songs and her previous single was titled Yehova amalankhula.
