Harold Zulu scored his 11th goal of the season as Evirom beat Thondwe United 2-1 to go top of the Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League’s (SRFL) Premier Division.

Zulu, who remains in contention for the division’s top goalscorer award, was joined on the score-sheet by Wongani Zulu. Ngeya Chitamba netted for Thondwe.

Evirom went top on 37 points, displacing Thondwe who have 36 points.

The teams are gunning for Super League promotion next season.

In the top scorers’ race, Zulu steered clear of Nyasa United’s Steve Dairi who has 10 goals. A good number of teams in the division have wound up the first round.

SRFL vice-general secretary Kingsley Simbeye said those who are done with the opening round are Nyasa, Tigers Reserves, Cobbe Barracks, Thondwe, Zomba United and Changalume. The division has 20 teams.
