Fans protest ticketing pricing in consistences
Some football fans have expressed dissatisfaction over inconsistencies in the newly-adjusted TNM Super League match ticket pricing.
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) announced the adjusted ticket prices based on matche categories at the start of the season.
Category A matches are now at K5 000 from K4 000 while category B matchers are now at K4 000 up from K3 000. Category C matches are at K3 000 from K2 000.

Category A matches are between TNM Super League giants FCB Nyasa Bullets, Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers, according to Sulom.
Category B matches, on the other hand, are those involving the three giants and any other team in the league. Category C matches are matches any matches between the rest of the teams.
However, a match between PremierBet Dedza Dynamos and Mzuzu City Hammers set for this Sunday at Dedza Stadium has been pegged at K4 000.
Some Dedza-based fans have since questioned the ticket price considering that they were told their team’s match and Mzuzu City falls in category C.
Brian Ngalima wondered if Sulom sanctioned the strange pricing of the match.
He said: “Is Sulom even aware of what is happening here?”
Mzuzu-based fan Davison Tetea Junior said he was surprised with the price after watching a match between Mzuzu City Hammers and Kamuzu Barracks at K3 000 at Mzuzu Stadium last week.
He said: “Just last week, I watched the match between Hammers and Kamuzu Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium at K3 000. Now the same team against a team in the same category it’s at K4 000?”
On his part, Celba Kamperewera said the inconsistencies will put off fans from patronising matches.
He said: “If this goes on we will stop watching matches. This has to be sorted out,”
But Sulom executive member Chimwemwe Nyirenda, who also heads the marketing and commercialisation subcommittee, said the inconsistency will be sorted out.
He said: “That must be a mistake. As previously announced, matches between Bullets, Wanderers and Silver are in category A and are at K5 000. But if they are playing any other team, that match falls in category B and the tickets are at K4 000. All matches involving the remaining teams fall in category C and are at K3 000.”
The TNM Super League kicked of last week with eight matches.
The battle for points resumes on Saturday with Blue Eagles hosting Songwe Border at Nankhaka while Chitipa United will be at home against defending champions Silver Strikers.
On Sunday, Mighty Tigers host Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium while Kamuzu Barracks will host Moyale at Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa. Karonga and Mafco clash at Karonga Stadium.
