FCB donates K40m to Beit Cure

First Capital Bank (FCB) on Thursday donated K40 million to Beit Cure Malawi to support fundraising efforts for surgeries on 80 children with treatable disabilities across the country.

The hospital expects to treat 2,300 children this year and has already mobilized funds for 2,200 patients.

Speaking during the donation presentation, FCB Head of Marketing Twikale Chirwa expressed the bank’s pleasure in supporting the hospital’s efforts to reach remote areas of the country and provide treatment to patients at no cost.

He said: “This contribution will not only help Beit Cure achieve their mission but will also contribute to the socio-economic fabric of the country, as the hospital is enhancing the health workforce.”

On his part, Beit Cure acting executive director Ezikiel Milelu thanked FCB for the donation, stating that it will help them conduct surgeries on 80 children.

“We urge other partners to join us, as there is a significant number of children in need of surgeries, and as a hospital, we are currently unable to meet the demand.

“The hospital conducts patient mobilizations across the country, and this year alone, we are planning this exercise in five districts. After this, we plan to expand to all 28 districts of the country,” he said.
