Head teachers in Mangochi hailed for good PSLCE results
Mangochi District Council director of education, youth and sports Joe Magombo has hailed primary school head teachers in the district for the outstanding performance in the recent Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) examination results.
Speaking on Thursday during the opening of Malawi Primary School Head Teachers Association (Mapsha) Mangochi Chapter Annual General Assembly at Lusumbwi Secondary School in the district, he said the pass rate jumped from 84 percent in 2023 to 91 percent in 2024.
“We owe this achievement to the teachers’ hardworking spirit,” he said.
Magombo also attributed the success to the collaboration among teachers, school management committees, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), traditional leaders parents and guardians.
Mapsha Mangochi Chapter chairperson McDonald Majawa pledged the teachers’ commitment to continue working hard to improve PSLCE performance in the district.
“This is the reason we come together to discuss matters that can improve performance in our district,” he said.
Namaso Bay Primary School head teacher Isabel Msiska said the annual assemblies enable head teachers to learn and mentor each other on good initiatives to improve performance.
She said she will continue working hard to ensure that the district performs better.
