FDH Bank to unveil Mayor’s Trophy sponsorship today

FDH Bank is today set to unveil increased sponsorship packages for the 2020 edition of Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzuzu Mayor’s Trophy tournaments during a cocktail at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.

The bank’s marketing manager Ronald Chimchere said they are excited to continue supporting youth sports development that benefits football and netball teams in about 140 primary schools in the country.

“Our main goal is to facilitate growth. We, therefore, take every opportunity to create growth platforms and opportunities for the youth to develop to their full potential,” he said.

“This year, we have increased the packages. We look forward to exciting Mayor’s Trophy tournaments and the nurturing of talents yet again.”

In the 2018/19 edition, Lilongwe and Zomba got K10 million sponsorship each while Mzuzu got K6 million.

Lilongwe City Council chief executive officer John Chome said they cherish their long-standing partnership with the bank and they are delighted to see learners continue improving their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

“This will make the youth grow up into responsible citizens.The mayor’s trophy represents an important activity towards achieving this goal,” he said.

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture spokesperson Simon Mbvundula said government considers the bank as a true partner in sports development.
