At least 28 women football coaches on Friday participated in a week-long Fifa coaching course at Chiwembe Hotel that houses Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
Secretary for Women Football Association of Malawi Lina Mtegha said such courses were necessary for the development of women football in the country.
“From this workshop, we are expecting to see the development of more coaching skills to improve women football standards in Malawi.
“We will be having more of such courses to help coaches advance their careers” said Mtegha.
One of the participants, Alice Shauka Msiska, from DD Sunshine Women Football Club in Lilongwe, said the course would help her to improve skills of her players.
“We have learnt time management, planning, selection of players, among others issues pertaining to women football development,” said Msiska, who is a player, coach and team manager. n
