Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe will host the 2018 Fisd Challenge Cup finals between Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers on December 23.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions and media director Gomezgani Zakazaka says this follows an agreement with the sponsors, Fisd Limited, and other stakeholders.

The Nomads, who were the first winners of the cup in 2016, winged into the finals of the tournament’s third edition after beating Moyale Barracks 2-1 on Saturday while the Central Bankers booted out Nyasa Big Bullets 2-0 the following day at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the Nomads technical panel had a chance to study their prospective opponents in Sunday’s match, but were conspicuously absent having left soon after their match against Moyale.

Team manager Stevie Madeira confirmed that they did not watch the Silver, Bullets match.

“Ordinarily, It would have been important for us to watch Sunday’s match, having played a day earlier, but due to some logistical hitches, we could not.

“Nevertheless, we know Silver, they have young, talented players and we will need to exercise a lot of caution and also prepare thoroughly,” he said.

On his part, Silver coach Lovemore Fazili said they are looking forward to an exciting final against the Nomads.
