Be Forward official launch in March

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers have announced that their one-year Be Forward sponsorship pegged at K70 million came into effect on January 1 2015, paving the way for the official launch in March.

Wanderers’ general secretary Michael Butao on Friday said it was incorrect to suggest that their sponsorship deal, which was marked by silence from the Japanese car dealers, only comes into effect after the official launch.

Butao said the contract was signed through DHL and the “sponsorship came into effect on January 1 2015 though, it was signed early December 2014.”

Wanderers announced the sponsorship in December 2014.

“The official launch will take place in March where Be Forward officials from Japan will be present. We hope to have the Minister of Sports, the Mayor and other dignitaries at the launch. So, officially from January 2015, we became Be Forward Wanderers,” Butao explained.

On Thursday, Be Forward marketing development manager Eri Momose confirmed to The Nation about the sponsorship to Wanderers, but insisted that they would comment more during the official launch.

Separately on the same day, Be Forward representative Tione Vitsitsi added: “Yes, it is true that we are sponsoring the club.

“We will soon make ourselves present in Malawi for a launch, you shall be invited.”
