Fredokiss documentary wows diplomatic community

Fredokiss on Saturday launched a documentary movie at Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) to a powerful audience that included high profile diplomats and marketing gurus.

Fredokiss, as he is popularly known in the music circles, is a brand ambassador of NBS Bank and his documentary about the impact of music on society, targets those who want to make a difference in their communities.

Titled Music As A Tool For Social Change, the documentary portrays Penjani Kalua aka Fredokiss growing from humble beginnings in Chirimba after returning from South Africa with his father, vociferous politician Kamlepo Kalua who is also member of Parliament. The story unfolds to the days the artists becomes the most sought after musician in Malawi.

In the documentary, Fredokiss discloses that he never thought of making it big in music.

He said: “For me to work with high profile people in various projects is amazing.”

The artist explained that he does not want to take all the credit having assembled a dedicated, youthful and humble team.

NBS chief executive officer Kwanele Ngwenya described Fredokiss as a game changer who shares the philosophy of the bank of creating one million entrepreneurs through his own initiatives.

“I am interested with his ideas of empowering the youth and creating one million entrepreneurs. This is a young man who is well educated though coming from humble beginnings and is creating a better world for others,” he said.

German Ambassador Jurgen Borsch described Fredokiss as a hard worker who has set his goals in a professional manner.

“This documentary is a must watch, having watched it, who would have thought that this young man can move from such humble beginnings to be where he is now. This is what our children need to learn because if you are focused then there is nothing stopping you in your pursuits,” he said.

On her part, Virginia Palmer described Fredokiss as a genius who will scale greater heights.

The 44-minute documentary is now on the market. n
