Germany donates vehicles to Malawi

Listen to this article

The German government last week handed over six vehicles and some equipment to Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. The equipment, which includes furniture, was being used by the Malawi-German Programme for the Promotion of Democratic Decentralisation (MGPDD). The programme phases out this month after 18 years in the country. Programme team leader Wolfram Jaeckel said the donated items should help the ministry to efficiently complement government’s efforts in rolling out decentralisation. —FATSANI GUNYA, staffreporter
