OG Issa Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) fourth-positioned side Glass Bank Sisters risk exclusion from this year’s event due to their delay to register for the annual contest.

SRNL general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie said on Wednesday at present they are remaining with one slot for the league to be filled and chances for the inclusion of Glass Bank Sisters seems slim as four other new teams have come forward to fill the gap.

She said registration of teams for this year’s competition started over two weeks ago, but Glass Bank is not coming to register.

She said so far, the registered teams are defending champions Diamonds Netball Club, Bingu Tigresses, MTL Queens, Woget Stars, Chilomoni Sisters, Chitakale, Prison Sisters, Aquaid Queens, Triggers Sisters, Airwing Sisters and Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters.

“If they do not come up to register by the end of the week, we will have no option but to incorporate a new team that has already made a request,” said Hanjahanja-Billie, adding that registration fee is K15 000 (about $37.50).

However, Glass Bank team manager Veronica Chigaula told The Nation on Wednesday that they were not aware that the registration exercise had already started as they were not communicated to.

“We will register when we receive that communication,” Chigaula said.

Despite, Hanjahanja-Billie said they are waiting for the sponsors of the league to determine the kick-off dates for the new season.
