Goals galore in North Women’s FAM League

TIt was goals galore in the Northern Region Women’s Football Association League (NRWFAL) when Luwinga Sisters walloped Gafu Sisters 26-0 on Sunday at Luwinga ground.

This is the highest score margin of the season so far.

During the match, Falesi Magawa scored 13 goals,Temwa Msuku seven while Grace Mtambo notched six.

Gafu have turned to be the punching bag as they are at the bottom of the log table without a point from five games.

CY Sisters thrashed Chicago to maintain top spot

In another game, leaders CY Sisters and Moyale Sisters maintained their top spots after collecting full points.

CY Sisters trounced Chicago 9-0 while Moyale beat Sanwecka 7-0 on Saturday.

Maureen Phiri and Chikondi Gondwe scored a hat-trick each while Vitumbiko Mkandawire scored a brace for CY Sisters.

The other goal was scored by Aless Chisina.

CY Sisters are top with 13 points from five games while Moyale  lie second because of an inferior goal difference.

CY Sisters coach Allan Kamanga said they will focus on the championship.

“It’s a tight race, but we will maintain the rhythm in order not to slip. It’s too early to predict the league outcome, but it’s our vision to defend the title,” he said.

In the Central Region, DD Sunshine beat their Juniors DD Sunshine Academy 2-0 on Saturday to reclaim top spot.

They have six points from two games while Academy are on second position with three points.

Funny Mwale and Vilipo Mhango were on target for the DD Sushnine. n
