Sparks are expected to fly and the ground will shake to its foundations this weekend when Multichoice Malawi launches its new and exciting GOtv at a colourful ceremony slated for Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Saturday promises a lot of fireworks as a number of mouth-watering activities have been lined up to add colour to the event.

Among the notable events expected to take the centre stage are live music performances by the country’s music stars such as the Black Missionaries, Lulu, Piksy, Dan Lu, Lucius Banda, Wendy Harawa, Armstrong and Maskal.

The day will start with a GOtv Netball ceremonial match between Blantyre and Lilongwe select netball teams followed by the Netball Champions League official launch and display.

Football will be next on the menu with a soccer challenge trophy between Silver FC and Big Bullets which will see the winners pocketing K1 million while the losers will get half the prize money. All the

teams will wear uniforms supplied by Multichoice Malawi.

During half time, fans will be treated to a special music performance of the GOtv theme song by Lucious Banda, Wendy Harawa, Dan Lu, Lulu, Maskal and Armstrong.

“The artists are expected to perform GOtv theme song which was produced as one way of appreciating local talent as well as underlining the fact that GOtv is all about bringing excitement.

“This will be the first time the song will be performed live and fun-lovers stand a chance of watching all the artists in the song under one roof. The song will be performed during the half time of a

football match between super league champions, Silver Strikers and their runners up, Big Bullets,” said Multichoice Malawi sales and marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda.

To sum up the day’s events, the Black Missionaries are going to provide a scintillating 2-hour live performance to the turnout.

On Sunday, the fun shall move to the spacious Sheaffer Marquee where a gospel music showdown will take place.
