GOtv to host netball awards gala night
GOtv, which is the product of Multichoice, has organised a gala night at upmarket Ufulu Gardens in Lilongwe to recognise and appreciate various players for their outstanding displays during the tournament.
GOtv Netball Champions League will be touching the finishing line this weekend with the final games slated to take place at Don Bosco Netball Court in Lilongwe on August 2 and 3.
Multichoice Malawi’s marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said it is against this background that GOtv, which is the product of Multichoice, has organised a gala night.
“The night also seeks to celebrate the successful tournament which has exposed the country’s hidden talent and giving young and promising players a platform to expose their talents,” said Nyirenda.
Nyirenda said the event, has been dubbed ‘GOtv Netball Gala Night’ where deserving players will be awarded in their respective categories for their ingenuity, talent and consistency.
“The awards are meant to encourage the players to continue on their path to greatness while motivating others to go an extra mile in their performance to also attain the same accolades.
“The organisers have put together a competent and professional team of judges to pick out the best and deserving players for the awards.
He said the team is composed of members from the media, officials from the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM), umpires, and some independent local netball analysts.
The tournament which was launched on April 12, 2013 at Multichoice Malawi premises in Lilongwe has witnessed twists and turns as the teams gave out their best to win the trophy.
