Speaking during the tours, he said government has identified a contractor to complete Jenda-Embangweni-Edingeni-Mzimba Boma road and Mtangatanga-Eswazini-Mzalangwe-Kafukule Road.
Said Mumba: “The Roads Authority [RA] has contacted China Railway 20 [CR20] Construction company for the road projects and works have begun.
“So let us support President Chakwera during the September 16 elections. We should also thank him for picking me as his running mate, your own child from Mzimba,” he said.
Apart from claiming that government has dealt with rising prices of cement and sugar on the market, Mumba also said President Chakwera will soon announce the new prices of fertiliser.
Mzimba South Malawi Congress Party aspiring legislator Emmanuel Jere said people in the area will vote for President Chakwera because they want development to continue.
In his remarks, Inkosi Mzukuzuku thanked government for resuming works on the stalled Jenda-Edingeni-Mzimba Boma Road.
About 371 563 people are expected to vote in Mzimba District on September 16.
