Umodzi mwa Yesu, under the banner of “Touching the Souls with what we have”, on Saturday donated various items to the sick at Ndirande Health Centre in Blantyre.

Umodzi mwa Yesu, an inter zonal group from Ndirande Kachere congregation of the CCAP Blantyre Synod of Blantyre City Presbytery, was established last year with contributions to serve the less-privileged.

Preaching to the sick, Ruth Banda reminded said God gave families and children as gifts from hence the need to take care of them.

“Jesus should be the foundation of your families, including the children that are the gifts from God. Blessed is the family that has a sizeable number of children.

“Fear God in your families and respect his commandments, pray unceasingly always,” said Banda, quoting Psalms 127 which says that “if Jehovah does not build the house, the builder builds it vain”.

Beatrice Chapepa, one of the beneficiaries, thanked Umodzi mwa Yesu for the timely donation.

“Some of us do not have basic items such as sugar and soap, among others as we cannot afford them. I ask God to bless Umodzi mwa Yesu for the donation. We would want you to continue with this and serve more underprivileged groups,” said Chapepa, a resident of Zambia in Ndirande.

Group chairperson Dorothy Nasiyaya said they formed the grouping to reach out to needy groups in society.

“It is our intention to reach out to prisoners, the sick in hospitals and homes, the elderly and orphans, among many others,” said Nasiyaya.
