Hallmark, NBS Bank to host Country Club Monthly Mug

Printing and general supplying firm Hallmark has teamed  up with NBS Bank to host a monthly mug at Country Club Limbe this Saturday.

Country Club golf committee vice-secretary Harold Phiri said in an interview yesterday that preparations for the tournament are at an advanced stage.

He said: “There’s already a big hype around it and we are looking at a field of 85.

“It’s a gunshot start competition, which limits participants as golfers tee off at the same time and it will start at 7am.

“It is going to be a big event and it is a monthly mug for February.”

Phiri said the tournament is also expected to be competitive as winners of the monthly mug will compete in the Winners of Winners Mug in December.

The tournament will have men’s, women’s and seniors’ categories and will be played on individual medal format.

Hallmark managing director Gift Chidya Gondwe said in an interview yesterday that they are co-sponsoring the tournament to interact with their existing and potential customers.

He said: “We also want to provide a platform for golfers to interact and have fun on the golf course.

“It will also be the first time for us to host a tournament at Country Club Limbe and we‘re excited and looking forward to it.”
