House responds to Sona

Members of Parliament (MPs) on Monday joined diplomats and economic experts in praising the State of the Nation Address (Sona) that President Lazarus Chakwera delivered in Parliament on Friday.

Leading the motion on the Sona on Monday, Dedza North MP Savel Kafwafwa (Malawi Congress Party-MCP) said the President’s address instilled hope in Malawians that finally they have a leader who can embrace servant leadership to drive the country’s transformation.

He said: “We have to recommit to developing and promoting our local industry if we are to achieve our dreams of growth and job creation.” Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani-Hara announced the 2024/25 National Budget will be presented on February 23.
