Digital solutions provider, Imosys has donated K6.5 million towards the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Annual Lake Conference slated for Mangochi from August 31 to September 3.

Presenting the cheque in Blantyre, Imosys operations manager Kumbukani Namanja said they decided to donate towards the conference because they believe in the power of partnerships.

“We believe that at this conference there will be a lot of stakeholders from various industries. So we know that there is a lot of potential for networking and showcasing products that Imosys is developing,” he said.

Namanja said the digital solutions are responding to the economic climate so that companies should not spend less in their operations.

Receiving the donation, IIM president Hastings Kapesa said the money will help the organisation to hold a successful conference.

“With the funding that we have received from Imosys, we will use it for the success of our annual lakeshore conference,” he said.

He said apart from the financial contribution, Imosys will also offer digital management solutions for this function.

Kapesa said the conference, which will be held under the theme: Building Resilience Through Insurance in Times of Economic Turbulence, will discuss how the industry can survive using digital solutions, among other topics.

“The conference will be unique because the speakers will speak on technology and agriculture insurance that will help find solutions to the economic turbulence that we are encountering.

Imosys has developed digital solutions for water boards, the Wesector and an essential services application called Alonda.
