Blantyre fans will kick off this year’s Independence Day celebrations with an all night music show scheduled for Motel Paradise this Friday.

Dubbed a Phungwe Music Show, the night brings together the country’s cream of secular music: Skeffa Chimoto, Black Missionaries, Anthony Makondetsa, Police Orchestra and Soldier Lucius Banda who has just returned from a month-long tour of South Africa. The five will be joined by budding dancer and musician Elly K who shared the stage with Channel O DJs last week at Chez Ntemba International Clubs in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

In an interview on Tuesday, sponsor Jai Banda of the Entertainers Promotions said all is set for the show and all artists have confirmed their availability.

“I always think of making Independence Day valuable to everyone and I know Malawians celebrate better through music shows. Hence,

On Sunday, Entertainers Promotions will present the same team in the Central Region at the Lilongwe Golf Club, for an afternoon show.
