Big Bullets coach Elia Kananji has refused to attribute four key players’ suspensions and injuries to Sunday’s 1-1 TNM Super League draw against Azam Tigers; a result that tasted sour for BB.

“Of course, we missed the players, but looking at how we played, this is not an excuse,” he said.

Bullets now lie second on 21 points from 10 games, two behind Moyale Barracks.

During the first-round game, Diverson Mlozi put the Bullets ahead barely after three minutes and looked headed for a routine comprehensive win, only to be stunned by Mussa Manyenje and Fischer Kondowe’s terrible misses, then Tigers’ Stanley Sanudi’s ultimate last gasp penalty equaliser.

Manyenje started upfront alongside Mlozi with Jimmy Zakazaka coming on late whereas another forward Tizgobere Kumwenda was on the bench.

Bullets were without suspended defenders Pilirani Zonda and injured Sankhani Mkandawire with Chiku Kanyenda making a rare start at the back.

The People’s Team were also without Dalitso Sailesi and Victor Limbani.
