Ipsa donates to Parliament
The Institute of Parliamentary Service Africa (Ipsa) has donated civic education materials to the Malawi National Assembly for distribution as Parliament goes into extra gear in bringing the House close to people.
The donation valued at $20 000, includes leaflets, brochures and posters in Chichewa that explain what happens in Parliament. “These information materials will be printed in Tumbuka and Yao as well just to reach out to a wide section of Malawians,” said Speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda. Ipsa executive director Kimberly Smiddy said such materials will help educate Malawians on the role of Parliament. —Yvonnie Sundu, Staff Reporter
