After starting off on a good note in Mwanza and Neno districts, the K100 million (about $250 000) Joyce Banda Foundation (JBF) Inter-constituency Football and Netball tournament has now moved to the Shire Valley districts of Nsanje and Chikhwawa.

According to the competition’s manager Wyson Sumaili, in Nsanje the tournament started yesterday and will end today when the district champions will be identified.

He said five constituencies namely Nsanje South West, Nsanje South, Nsanje Lalanje, Nsanje Central and Nsanje North have been divided into two groups and the winners will meet in the finals.

“Group A will comprise Nsanje South West and Nsanje South and they will play home and away while the three other constituency teams will compete in Group B on league basis, but will play only one game as we do not have enough time. We expect the games to be entertaining,” said Sumaili.

In Chikhwawa (CK), six constituences—CK South, CK Mkombezi, CK Central, CK West, CK East and North—will also be divided into two groups of three teams each and will play from tomorrow to Sunday.
