With inspiration from Timothy Kamwana, McGoodwin Mangani and Chota Mwenefumbo, KB won the three sets 25-17, 26-24 and 25-14 respectively.

Spikers coach Paul Malange attributed the defeat to lack of training.

“We did not train as a team due to personal commitment by the players. We had poor reception throughout the game and our colleagues capitalised on that, “said Malange.

To reach the finals, KB stunned Snipers with three sets while Lilongwe Spikers beat Mipuniro Spikers with the same margin.

As champions KB received K60 000 while Spikers got K40 000 as runners up.

League acting vice-general secretary Trust Mtegha thanked the teams for making the bonanza a reality.

The two day tournament attracted eight teams.
