Khuda continues to shine in South Africa

South Africa-based Malawian forward Khuda Muyaba on Sunday kept his second-tier GladAfrica Championship League golden boot hopes on the boil when he scored the equaliser for Polokwane City in a two-all draw against University of Pretoria.

The in-form Flames forward is still the league’s leading scorer with nine goals, one ahead of his hottest contender Luvuyo Phewa of Pretoria University.

Leads the scorers chart: Muyaba

The weekend games marked the start of the second round and Polokwane are among the title contenders which gives a ticket to the top-flight DStv Premiership.

They are fifth in the 16-team league with 25 points from 16 matches, six points behind leaders Richard Bay.

Muyaba, who has been scoring regularly for Polokwane, could not be reached for his comment yesterday.

Internationally, he has also shone for the Flames of late and scored one of the two goals in their abortive 2022 Qatar World Cup qualification campaign.

The bustling forward was on target when Malawi lost to Ivory Coast 2-1.He also scored twice at this year’s Cosafa Cup.

Apart from Muyaba, Polokwane has two other Malawian players in defender Dennis Chembezi and midfielder Mike Mkwate.
