The song takes a swipe at religious leaders who preaches against some vices and do the same things in private.
“Ulalike zomwe uchita, uphunzitse anthu choonadi, mulungu amadana ndi bodza. Siya tchimo, zomwe uchita, ulalikire anthu choonadi, mulungu amadana ndi bodza…” goes the refrain jointly done by Anjiru and Malcomnish.
The song’s video was shot in Malawi by Kanchowa and US by Chippie Khonje and it was produced by Amos ‘Drumos’ Mlolowa.
Reacting to the feedback, Anjiru said they appreciate it and feel encouraged by the excitement the video has created.
“We really appreciate everything that has been said in regards to the song and video. We are looking forward to collaborating with many artists and our fans should expect more of such collaborations,” he said.
Reverend is part of the group’s recent 10-track album Kuyimba 13 released two months ago. Malcomnish is part the US-based Malawian family band Lungu Vybz, renowned for its roots reggae beats.
