Malawi Police Orchestra drops a single for unity
Malawi Police Orchestra has released a single titled Ndife Amodzi which encourages Malawians to be peaceful ahead of the September 16 General Election.
The song, recorded at OBK studio in Blantyre by Obed Chitheka, also reminds Malawians that despite supporting different political parties, they need to be united.

Band leader George Chilala said in an interview that the single was composed by Owen Chirwa, a Malawi University of Science and Technology (Must) musicology graduate.
He said: “We are optimistic that Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) and other stakeholders will secure rights to use the song during this campaign period.
“If it could please them, they can engage us to perform live. It is our desire that politics should not divide us, but rather unite us as members of one family called Malawi.”
On his part, Chirwa thanked Malawians for receiving the song with positivity and promised to compose more songs that will relate with people of all age groups.
In a separate interview, Senior Chief Chimombo of Nsanje urged
political leaders to embrace the message in the song.
He said: “Politicians should listen to the song with a sober mind and apply what is in the song on the ground. I love the song. It was produced for all ages, no wonder, high ranking police officers, chiefs, our district commissioner Dominic Mwandira and district governors of different political parties relate to the song.”
Early this year, Mangochi-based musician Francis Dangoman Kadango also released a song denouncing political violence ahead of the polls
