Prophetess Mary Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG)- The Jesus Nation has pledged to continue providing financial support to women struggling to fend for their families in the country.
The wife to ECG-The Jesus Nation founder Prophet Shepherd Bushiri made the pledge on Saturday when she graced the 2025 Women on Fire Conference at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe where she awarded over 10 women for successful business pitches.
Said Bushiri: “The majority of the country’s population are women. I have observed that most women take care of large families but often lack the necessary financial resources to engage in profitable ventures.
“Some of these women even lack K100 000 to sustain their small businesses and support their big families. This is the reason I have decided to come in to assist such women.”
Jessica Banda, one of the coordinators and organisers of ‘Women on Fire Conference, said Bushiri’s support seeks to help alleviate financial challenges women face and enable them to better support their families.
”This conference has been organised to uplift the lives of women in Malawi. We are here to enable women think about and pray for their families, businesses, ministries and the country. It’s all about empowerment, helping women to stand up and do something for themselves,” she said.
This year’s conference was held under the theme ‘Unstoppable woman 2025’ and celebrated the strength and resilience of women across Malawi.
The event drew over 1 000 women from various places across the country.
