The High Court in Zomba yesterday adjourned to today hearing of the murder case of MacDonald Masambuka, a person with albinism killed in Machinga last year. Suspects in the case, among others, include Catholic priest Father Thomas Muhosha.

Presiding judge Zione Ntaba adjourned the matter because Muhosha’s lawyer was not available at the court yesterday.

Initially, when the court reconvened yesterday morning, the judge adjourned the matter to 2pm to allow Muhosha communicate with his new lawyer.

However, the court later communicated that the matter would be heard from 9am today.

During an earlier hearing on March 5 this year, the State indicated that Muhosha wanted to change his lawyer Ian Twea, a request Ntaba accepted and asked the suspect to provide details of the replacement by March 8.

Yesterday, Muhosha identified Louis Bande as his new lawyer. The lawyer had turned up for the hearing in the afternoon when the matter was adjourned.

Muhosha and 12 others were found with a court to answer. n
