Media gets greenlight on Mphwiyo hearing

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has rescinded its decision to bar the media from covering a hearing between the committee and budget director Paul Mphwiyo on his role in the looting at Capital Hill in which government has lost billions of kwacha.

The much-anticipated hearing is scheduled for today at the Parliament Building in Lilongwe. Committee chairperson Beatrice Mwangonde had earlier communicated that the media would not be allowed into the hearing following a request from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) because of the sensitivity of the matter.See full schedule of the hearings here:
