Miss Heritage Malawi celebrates remarkable women

Miss Heritage Malawi last week held an event to honor women who have demonstrated exceptional resilience, innovation, and influence across the country.

The ceremony highlighted the strides women are making in breaking societal barriers, supporting one another, and overcoming hardship.

Among the awardees were Jacqueline Bokosi, owner of CTS Courier; Tusayiwe Mkhondya, founder of YANA Foundation; and Deborah Mbale of Mai Mbambande. Also recognised were Chawezi Banda (Chacha), Triephornia Mpinganjira, Tusekile Mwalwanda, Dorothy Daka, and Temwani Chilenga for acknowledged for their commitment to empowering others and creating lasting impact in their respective fields.

Speaking during the event, Miss Heritage Malawi founder and CEO, Maddie Soko, underscored the importance of recognising women who are championing empowerment and driving positive change.

“These awards are not just about recognizing the achievements of these amazing women; they are a celebration of resilience and empowerment,”

She further noted, “It’s crucial to acknowledge the strength and dedication of these women because their stories inspire others to take action and make a difference in their communities. It’s about creating a ripple effect of positive change.”

One of the awardees Bokosi expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying the award is a testament to the value and impact of her work.

She also reaffirmed her commitment to charitable work as part of her broader mission to support underprivileged communities.

To recognize the awardees, each received a special voucher for a night’s stay, courtesy of a partnership with Game Haven—a gesture symbolising gratitude for their contributions and the value of their continued efforts.
