Motel Paradise awaits giants
In setting up the tone for the festive season, the Blantyre entertainment mecca Motel Paradise will tomorrow play host to a mega music all-night party featuring some of Malawi’s top acts.
The names that Entertainers Promotions (EP) has assembled for this ‘Phungwe’ do not come in lesser quantities than Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band, Black Missionaries Band , Anthony Makondetsa, Nepman, Sam Smack, Khonzie Masimbe, Yajanani Chumbu and young Jonny Banda.
The Friday show is one of the two gigs that EP has organised during this festive season. After the Blantyre event, the party will head to Mangochi on the eve of Christmas and the venue is Zithere pano Club.
EP’s Jai Banda said: “These are the last two shows from us this year and our fans who have been with us in 2018 should expect to get a special thank you package. When we come through, we do not like doing things in half-measures and these two shows are no exception.”
Apart from organising several gigs through the year, EP has been part of many big entertainment events such as the Lake of Stars, Sand Music Festival, Carlsberg Urban Music Party, and Innovation Awards where they have provided services such as stage and lighting.
Banda has called upon music lovers to come early to the venues so that they should not miss any performance as they intend to kick start the performances early.
“We will as usual provide good security, good sound, chilled drinks and a lot of food befitting the festive season. Let us all come together and celebrate this season as one big music family,” he said.
Black Missionaries front man Anjiru Fumulani said as a group, they are ready to give a special musical gift to their fans on Friday.
Fumulani said: “Special thanks to the EP family for giving us a chance to interact with our fans during this festive season. It is even a special moment for us since Motel Paradise is almost like home. We promise a good time.”
