MSC, OCC to host NBM Cricket quarter-finals

Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) and Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) in Blantyre have been named as venues for this Sunday’s quarter-final encounters of the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) 25 Overs Tournament.

Southern Region Cricket League (SRCL) chairperson Shiraz Zaveri told The Nation yesterday that the last eight encounter between MSC Silver and MSC Gold will set the momentum for another quarter-final match between MSC Purple and MSC White.

Zaveri said OCC will be a setting for a crucial battle between defending champions MSC Orange and MSC Grey. But he insisted that that game will be played after MSC Veterans and MSC Blue have sorted each other out in the morning.

“The first quarter-final matches will start at 8.30am while the second games are scheduled to begin at 12.30pm,” said Zaveri.

He said the semi-finals will take place at MSC next weekend while finals are slated for November 10 at the same venue.
